Over 2.4 million bicycles are stolen every year in the U.S. alone — bikes are stolen 2.5x more often than cars.
Reported bike thefts jumped 15% year-over-year in the latest annual data, and the real number is likely much higher — only about 1 in 3 thefts ever get reported.
