The better question is simpler: what parts of your bike are exposed, how fast can they be removed, and what hardware actually stops that from happening?
Most riders already know how to secure a frame to a rack. What gets missed is everything else thieves can strip in seconds - front wheel, rear wheel, saddle, seatpost, even cockpit hardware on the right bike. If you commute, leave your bike outside regularly, or ride a bike with quick-release parts, security is not one product. It is a system.
What a bike security hardware comparison should measure
Too many comparisons focus on one number, usually strength. Strength matters, but it is only one part of real-world protection. Good bike security hardware needs to balance theft resistance, daily convenience, weight, and fit.
The first factor is what the hardware protects. A heavy frame lock does nothing for a quick-release wheel. A wheel skewer lock does nothing for the frame. If the hardware only covers one risk point, you are still leaving value behind.
