Real-World Performance: What a Lock Changes
A seatpost lock changes the risk calculation. Without one, the theft is fast, quiet, and low-skill. With one, the thief has to recognize the locking system, decide whether they can defeat it, and spend longer working near your bike. That extra friction is the point.
